As a classical public universitty with approx. 60,000 students, 3,600 lecturers, 1,900 admin. staff, the UGR (founded 1531) offers a wide range of undergraduate & postgraduate courses. The UGR is committed not only to quality & excellence in education, learning and research but also to activities targeting the transfer of scientific, technical & artistic knowledge to society & a sustainable environment. Due to its long-standing tradition, geographical location & high standards, both in teaching & research, the UGR regards internationalization as one of its strategic aims. Every year over 4,800 intl. graduate and postgraduate students choose the UGR to take full study programmes or via the approx. 800 bilateral exchange agreements in which the UGR is involved. Virtual Learning Centre CEVUG (since 2001) activities are: ICT (technological and methodological) Training for eLearning, design and implementation of undergraduate & master courses, joint European projects and networks (EFQUEL).

Due to the involvement of UGR in European Programs and the expertise of CEVUG in the field of e-Learning and the provision of tools and methodologies for the communication amongst all agents involved in education (teachers, learners and administrative staff), UGR point of view in providing support when applying ICT in this framework would be valuable. The participation of UGR and CEVUG in previous projects regarding Virtual Mobility and ICT capabilities for enhancing international cooperation is an added value.

All operational aspects of the project such of Contact Person within the partner will be managed from the Virtual Learning Center CEVUG of UGR and financial aspects will be managed in a cooperative way by International Relations Office and CEVUG administrative staff. UGR will lead work package 3 on capacity building and teacher training.
